Choose Carefully the Grounds of Your Home

Long ago I read somewhere that we have to be very careful when buying a new home or choosing the spot where we plan to build a home. In both cases we have to research the terrain first. Research for what? Well, underground waters, possible ancient constructions, underground rocks, not to mention burial grounds. All of these things appear to have effect on the lives of the people living in a home built over them. It was an interesting read but I never took it seriously. Now, however, I’ll have to do my own research because since my family and I moved to our new home, we’ve been all experiencing some unusual events.

My Experience with Fasting

About 10 years ago I decided for the first time to follow the 40-day fast before Easter. The problem was I wasn’t prepared for that. I mean I should have read what is good to include in your menu when you abstain from meat and all dairy products. As a result, after 20 days I started feeling awful. Moreover, I was working as an aerobics instructor then and needed larger than average protein intake. I suffered low blood pressure, low blood sugar and felt constantly exhausted. Then I decided it’s better to break my fast for the sake of my health. I haven’t tried again to fast since then.

I’m a Proud Aunt of a Lovely Nephew

The day before yesterday my brother’s wife gave birth. She chose a small private hospital out of town. Three hours after I was told the happy news I was in the hospital to see my newborn nephew. I had some issues against them choosing that hospital in particular, as I had heard some negative comments before. Moreover such small hospitals usually don’t have all the necessary life saving equipment and can’t provide enough baby incubators in case of need. Thanks God both mother and baby are safe and in perfect health and I actually liked the hospital. The room was excellent with coat rack metal art work behind the door and always fresh flowers.

Never Been in a Strike Before

I was recently thinking that I’ve never participated in a strike. I’ve never had any complaints and any reasons to protest against anything or anybody. But if there is a good reason I’d probably take part in a strike. I exclude protests like these that recently took place in London. These were not protests, but people from the ghettos who went to steal goods from stores and destroy what was created by others.
The good thing is there where I live everything is settled by negotiations. And as a matter of fact I believe that better results can be is achieved by political maneuvers and negotiations.

Why Do I Keep Seeing Them in My Dreams

Both my father’s parents died recently and I wonder why I always see them in my dreams. I was close to them and as long as I remember myself I’ve always spent holidays and vacations with them. I do miss them a lot but that doesn’t explain why only I dream of them. My brother was also close to them but he has never seen them in a dream since they died. My dreams are not scary, just pleasant and most of the time a bit sad. Pleasant because I dream of being with them in their house. However, always at the end of such dream I realize that isn’t possible because they are no longer between us.

It’s Pay Back Time

It’s true when they say that what goes around comes all the way back around. When you are rude with someone soon or later you pay for your rudeness. There was this girl from high school who liked me. I knew about that but never gave her a chance. She wasn’t my type. On the prom ball I even made everybody laugh at her. I didn’t mean it to happen that way but I know I really hurt her. 10 years later, yesterday, I saw her again. She looked stunning; she had a great toned body, she must have lost weight. I couldn’t stop staring at her. I went to talk to her but when she recognized, all what she said was “it’s pay back time”.

Stay Updated

Does anyone know what catechins (I’m not even sure whether that’s the correct spelling) mean? I saw that word used in a Lipton Green tea commercial and have no idea what it means. Is it something similar to antioxidants? I presume it is but would like to know for sure. Isn’t it funny that these days we need all the time google to keep us updated with all that’s happening around us. Everyday some bright minds come up with new terms and we have to catch up unless we may feel totally inadequate. I’ve already been in several embarrassing situations myself.

I Wish Him Best of Luck

Sharm El Sheikh

My best childhood friend became one of the best divers in the world. About 5 years ago he shared with me that he wanted to run his own diving center in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. He is in love with this place. Now 5 years after this conversation he achieved his goal and I was there at the opening of his new center. My present for his beginning was fish metal wall art work which is already on display at the reception of the club. This is my way to wish him the best of luck in his endeavor.

New Music Trends

I think that singers are getting weirder with every single year that passes. May be it is because the public is too oversaturated and is ready to pay for everything that is a little bit different. Well, I like much more every new style more than the previous one too, but there are limits in everything. I can’t accept music which is all about chinking with some glass objects and a regular shouting time to time. I appreciate the efforts of some singers, though, which try to make lyrics connected with the time we are living instead of singing old fashioned songs about the true love and create music that still has a melody in the chaos of electronic sounds.

Smell of the Ocean

Ocean

If I could turn back time, I would never leave the coast where I have grown for that urban place I’m currently living in. I know that it gives me much more opportunities for a business, contacts and higher state of life, but these things go on a background when I get the melancholy mood sometimes. Do you know the feeling when you get up, feel the smell of the ocean and are immediately charged all day long? Well, I can’t even think about such a  waking here, next to the biggest factory in the country. I hope someday when business does not attracts me so much I would have the chance to get back home again.
